Fire (Salamander Energy)
A key gift of fire is compassion and the caring that accompanies compassion. Fire is both a strong force and a weak force. Fire can breakdown and transform something from one form to another form. Fire can also forge forms making them stronger. Fire opens you to working with the perception of the past, present and the future. By working with fire, you are opening to deeper levels of caring. When you work with the element of fire, you are opening yourself to the gifts of compassion, passion, inspiration and individuality:
- Compassion is a level of passion born of having experienced failure, sorrow, and fruitful struggle. These experiences change you in a positive way and out of that learning compassion is born. You are more! The element of fire in its esoteric and metaphorical context offers this.
- Passion is another gift of fire. It is an intensity. It is a level of focus. It is what sparks an emotion or action. It is wild and boundless in its expression. Passion generates and sustains action.
- Inspiration is that capacity within each of us to move from a space of being to space of changing. Inspiration opens you to something more, something unknown. It is a capacity to reach for a level of understanding that you might not reach for if not for being inspired to do so. Fire can spark this in you.
- Individuality is another gift of the salamanders. To have a sense of individuality means to have the capacity to stand out. It means to be solid within the self and have a sense of the world from the perspective of one’s own self. Fire offers this capacity to distinguish one’s self from others. It is a state of being indivisible; that state in which you cannot be separated from. It speaks to strength. To be individual is to have a distinct existence.

Water (Undine Energy)
Water in its very nature can hold the space for the other three elements. It has a unique capacity to interact with each creating something that is more. Like air, water is an essential element for life in our world. Water holds the chemistry of life within it. The undine energy is the flow of life. Water offers the gift of healing… healing through love. Wherever there is the force of flow, you will find the undine energy. As an example, when water interacts with fire steam is created which is a form of energy.
- The element of water is linked to our emotions. Its surface can be tranquil in one moment and in another anxious or angry. It speaks to the ability to be fluid and ever changing. The element of water has as its signature resonance, the emotion of love. The love that heals.
- The element of water is transformative. It is a force that transmutes. It has the capacity to dissolve anything over time. In fact it can dissolve anything in the physical world, given time. Therefore water represents patience.
- Water is flexible in how it allows itself to take on the shape of anything it comes in contact with. Water is a weak force. Water seeks the least avenue of resistance in its movement, yet it can exert great force when when its movement is impeded too much. Water is aligned with the direction. Water represents change.

Gift of Love, Healing & Transformation
Earth (Gnome Energy)
The element of earth offers the primary gift of choice. Choice is one the most powerful raw materials available to all of us in manifesting the things we want in life. Earth also offers the power of the possible. One of the powers of the earth is that it offers the magic of the unknown. In working with the element of earth, you are opening yourself to empowered choice. In the power to choose you can access right and true choice that is powerful. Because earth at its core is about choice, possibility in its widest range is available.
- Character, the adherence to one’s principles, can be strengthened and expanded in your work with Earth. Earth offers authentic ownership, a level of ownership that comes from valued self, that part of self that knows of dignity, compassion, and love.
- Earth anchors the light of the divine in the physical. It is the bridge between what is above and what is below. Earth anchors the power of the between. That power that has as its source empowered choice.
- The Earth, through its magnetic field, has the capacity to hold the force of gravity in place, creating the physical space for varied forms of life to exist. The gnome energy gathers the chemistry of life from the ether and brings it into the earth. The energy of the ether is light and it is that light that allows the seeds to sprout and the trees to grow. The gnome energy brings the light and the life from the ether.

Air (Sylph Energy)
The gift of air is transcendence. Transcendence is the ability to move beyond ordinary limitations. Transcendence is a spiritual state of being. As well, air’s nature is to bring clarity... a clarity that opens you to new perspectives. It creates the space for something new to exist. It creates the state in which transcendence can exist. The element of air is essential to most life sustaining itself. In that role of nurturing life, air can be considered essential to all the other elements in helping them achieve a higher state of being.
- Air fills all the space within our physical reality. Air also represents freedom. Freedom from and freedom to. In working with the element of air, you can open to a more focused sense of freedom in creating what it is that you want.
- Air is considered a weak force. A weak force has the capacity to breakdown anything it comes in contact with. Air aids in clearing a space for something new to enter. Think of fire which must use air in order to grow.
- Air offers transcendence. That level of change that not only comes from one's own conscious actions but from forces beyond self. It is integrated in a level of receiving that is higher.
- Because air is omnipresent, it carries the knowledge of oneness... that oneness that speaks of connection born of enchantment. Enchantment is the choice to believe that all things are connected. That all things are one.
